The Salinas Valley Elite Running Club is a local non-profit group of walkers and runners, dedicated to improving the health and fitness of the community.
SVE meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights, at 5:30PM at the Hartnell College Track, and on Saturdays at various locations throughout Monterey County.
We typically train for a local race, under the leadership of Coach Christopher Zepeda, head coach of the champion Hartnell College Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Local races we train for include Wharf to Wharf, Heart & Sole, Salinas Valley Half Marathon and Jingle Bell 5K.
SVE also enjoys doing volunteer work and fundraising for local causes. This year, we will organize our first road race, with proceeds benefiting youth distance running programs and athletes.
